Vaco Los Angeles is working with a client near Downtown Los Angeles, Ca who is looking to add a highly experienced Payroll Manager to their team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of full cycle payroll experience. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment. This is an in office position which will require someone local to Los Angeles, Ca and pay is between $30-$42/hr.


Responsibilities:
  • Processes bi-weekly and semi-monthly multi-state, multi-location US payrolls
  • Processes monthly payroll for employees
  • Timely and accurate administration of prevailing wage reporting and related activities.
  • Tracks and processes payroll changes including: commissions, bonuses, taxable benefits, reimbursements, time and attendance adjustments and or approvals, retroactive earnings, paid time off, etc.
  • Completes the preparation of payroll documents (i.e., payroll checks and electronic deposits, payroll registers, etc.), ensuring accurate calculations, timely processing and compliance with federal and multi-state laws.
  • Oversees and ensures plancompliance, accuracy, and record keeping of 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Collaborates with appropriate HR team members to ensure accurate health and welfare benefit data, deductions, & carrier file feeds and uploads.
  • Prepares and posts all payroll entries to the general ledger. Ensures accurate accounting and reporting on all payroll related feeds to finance.
  • Manages preparation and distribution of company compliance reporting
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, as well as payroll and government reporting procedures, including knowledge of garnishment, levy and child support processing.

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related course of study
  • International payroll experience a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in payroll processing, related accounting analysis and month-end reconciliations
  • Experience using Ceridian, ADP, UKG, or other software's
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member in a time sensitive environment a must
  • Strong communication skills, written/verbal, and the ability to interact with employees at all levels
  • Unquestionable ethics and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive data required
  • Advanced Excel skills
