Position description

UCSF Fresno & Veteran Affairs Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) - Sleep Medicine Physician

Veterans Affairs Central California Health Care System, Fresno, CA, affiliated with University of California, San Francisco Medical Residency Program, leader in health care quality is recruiting for a full-time faculty member for the division of sleep medicine. Fresno has a collaborative agreement with Lemoore NAS and is building a 4-bed state of the art sleep center. The provider will be expected to represent the ICARE values, and enthusiastically manage our sleep division which includes treatment of sleep disorders, running the sleep lab and interpretation of sleep studies. This position will report to the Chief of Pulmonary/Critical Care and may include other duties pertaining to their respective subspecialty certifications. VA provides patient centered care, delivered by engaged, collaborative teams in an integrated environment that supports learning and continuous improvement. Teaching and supervising fellows in sleep medicine as well as residents in Internal Medicine will be a component of this position. The candidate we are looking for must meet the qualifications for faculty appointment with UCSF. The physician should be of high caliber and have outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills. As a member of the VA professional team, the candidate will be expected to provide high quality veteran-centered care within their area of specialty. Candidate must have a medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent), must be eligible to obtain a US medical license and be board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible or board certified in Sleep Medicine. Fresno is located 3 hours south of San Francisco and just 2 hours from 3 national parks, including Yosemite, and year-round recreation.

The VACCHCS provided a reasonable salary estimate for this position: $115,587-$243,000.
