Summary:

Energy Transfer is seeking a talented and driven Sr. Specialist to join our Operational Data Analytics team.

As a Senior Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and meaningful projects in the energy sector. You will be responsible for helping to implement and support our corporate data historian environment and implementing optimization solutions for Energy Transfer's Operations. Be a subject matter expert (SME) for the system and will work closely with our Energy Transfer's Operations groups to help understand business challenges and implement solutions leveraging historian and analytics software.

Job Description



  • Design solutions, install, and configure the historian software for new and existing facilities.
  • Work closely with Energy Transfer's Operations groups to help understand business challenges and implement solutions leveraging historian and analytics software.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and manages work in conjunction with the Infrastructure, Server, DBA, and Network teams for all applications and interfaces.
  • Participates in the annual budgetary process.
  • Be a champion for improvements and ideas.
  • Be a team and project leader for undertaking application implementations and upgrades.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline operations is a plus.
  • Be able to prioritize, schedule and deliver for multiple projects and priorities.


Education Requirements and Required Skills:



  • 4-year degree in Computer Science or 4+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience required.
  • Experience with optimization software such as SEEQ or PowerBI
  • Working knowledge SQL, VBA, and VB.NET
  • Strong understanding of time-series data
  • Experience with data historians and analytics software such as Capstone dataParc and parcView, OSI PI, or SEEQ
  • Experience with other historians such welcomed
  • Strong understanding of time-series data and mathematics.
  • High proficiency with Windows administration, security, networking
  • Highly motivated, assertive self-starter that is goal-driven and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Job duties require solid analytical and problem-solving skills to review data from multiple sources, identify trends and root causes.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Candidate must be able to work without direct supervision and have excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Edits work for spelling and grammar. Speaks clearly and persuasively. Listens and gets clarification. Participates in meetings. Worker will be meet with all levels of management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to enable incumbent to work closely with field work crews and Area Management; and coordinate work with other appropriate technical resources.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency.


Working Conditions:

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Willingness to travel upwards of 25%.
