Compensation Range: $57,977 To $72,471, based on experience.

Job Objective:

Oversee the daily financial activities including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and point of sale. Leads the team in accordance with the policies and guidelines of The Salvation Army under the direction of the Trade Central Business Manager.

Essential Duties:



  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a process backup in place for every critical operation
  • Run daily POS and sales routines and share results with management.
  • Monitor credit card charges, payment discrepancies, refunds, returns and miscellaneous charges
  • Reconcile department accounts monthly and prepare reports to present to management
  • Maintain and update general ledger and sales journals for the end of the month
  • Monitor employees so that all documents in the finance section are scanned and filed in a timely manner. Maintain orderly financial filing system
  • Assist with customer inquiries regarding invoices, statements and payments. Work with AR personnel to manage customer accounts. Contact customers when the accounts are past due
  • Assist vendors with inquiries regarding the status of payment. Work with vendors and AP personnel in cases where either the quantity or quality of the product received is in question


Offsite:

Assist with packing/unpacking merchandise for off-site events. Attend offsite events.

Travel to off-site events, set-up, operate, inventory and pack up off site store.

Other:

Work year-end inventory.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent experience.

Experience:

4 years experience in a similar finance role; experience in a non-profit environment preferred but not required.

Financial reporting analysis experience preferred.

OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Skills:

Requires working knowledge of computer system operation with a specific emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Accounting software experience. Acumatica knowledge a plus.

Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Billing Specialist/Store Clerk and Accounts Receivable/Inventory Specialist

Travel:

As needed once per month. Must possess a valid IL driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle report.
