SUMMARY
Individual is responsible for various custodial/housekeeping duties as required in the Montgomery County Court House and any other location, as designated.
*1st Shift*
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbant will have the responsibility to perform routine cleaning procedures including but not limited to: sweep, mop floors, dust/polish furniture and equipment, clean glass at entrance doors, empty wastebaskets and remove trash, empty outside trash containers and ensure a clean, sanitary environment. Includes cleaning restrooms and restocking supplies to assure that staff and visitor's needs are met. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. This position requires operating floor machines, burnishers and carpet cleaning equipment.
Each area is shut down and cleaned according to a schedule providing minimum inconvenience to employees and the general public. Must be observant of custodial needs that may not necessarily be written. Effectively respond to unexpected changes in work volume, emergency scheduling or staff revisions.
Adheres to all safety rules for handling and disposing of cleaning agents; including universal precautions and proper use of personal protection equipment. Individual is required to be familiar and follow guidelines for the use of safety equipment when operating power equipment.
Able to communicate effectively with other staff and visitors. Works harmoniously with other member of staff.
Each custodian is trained in the proper handling of chemicals and the handling of hazardous items.
Attendance and punctuality a must.
Each custodian will respond to any cleaning assignment during their shift which may include janitorial duties at another County location.
