Group Controller
Charlotte, NC (with 25% travel to Tulsa and other locations)
CPA required

Once in a lifetime opportunity to join apublicly traded company experiencing rapid growth ahead of their industry. Last year was a record year in terms of revenues, profitability, and share price. The focus is on driving growth within the US, particularly at theirfacility in Greensboro.

Seeking a Group Controller to join our clients Charlotte headquarters and co-lead the financial team at our Greensboro facility alongside the on-site controller. This role involves driving excellence in our major subsidiary, which serves as the main growth driver for the group. The ideal candidate will report to the Group VP of Finance and work closely with the site financial team to enhance reporting, streamline work processes and controls, upgrade ERP systems, and expedite monthly closing procedures for improved accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly/quarterly close cycles and complete financial reports and routines with high quality, professional analysis, and timeliness.
  • Ensure SOX compliance.
  • Implement and document internal controls, processes, and routines in collaboration with the onsite controller and company financial team.
  • Manage revenue recognition.
  • Proactively identify ways to shorten the monthly close timelines.
  • Develop and drive innovative process improvements leveraging technology to maximize overall efficiency while strengthening internal controls.
  • Manage ERP system accuracy and WIP subsidiary projects.
  • Oversee HR governance, including Payroll, SOX, and 401K.
  • Collaborate effectively with corporate finance and subsidiary teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA certification and audit experience.
  • 5-7+ years of experience as a controller or assistant controller in manufacturing (Aerospace preferred); experience in a publicly traded company is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP, procedures, and legislation.
  • Proficiency in office and accounting software programs, including ERP systems.
  • Experience in a multinational company is a plus.
  • Hands-on approach with a strong work ethic, excelling in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Highly energetic, self-motivated, and a fast learner.
  • Willingness to travel (25%).
