Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator- Sport Programs is responsible for the overall administration of all aspects of a comprehensive sport program and experiences for students) that includes
-Intramural Sports (on campus sport and competition based activities open to all students of all skill level ). This includes planning, administration and assessment of all aspects of program that serves thousands of students annually

- Sport Clubs (competitive sports that practice, travel and compete against other universities) This includes planning, administration and assessment of a 26 sport team program that serves over 750 students on a daily basis

Intramural Sports duties
-General programming administration in sport, league and playoff scheduling through numerous sport and program based competition
- Development of new programs to serve the larger LUC population through activities both virtually and in person
-Student staff development of officials, office staff and supervisors
-Staff management including scheduling, conduct, and payroll
- Contribute to the development of policy and procedures
- Manage sports equipment and facility scheduling
- Increase marketing of programs to student population
-Increase outreach to campus partners such as CSE, learning communities, Res Life and more
- Supervision of programming on evenings and weekends
- Performs administrative duties as needed such as completing program reports, incident reports, and other documentation.

Sport Clubs duties
-The Program Coordinator provides overall administration and oversight of the sport club program.
- Collaborate with sport club organizations and campus stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive plan to strengthen sport clubs at Loyola University.
- Develop a strategic plan to execute sport club standards, which includes but is not limited to, advisement, training, and management.
- Implement and evaluate the policies and procedures for sport club organizations
- Serve as an official university representative to national, regional, and/or local affiliated sport club organizations and tournaments, work with multiple on and off-campus stakeholders (e.g. coaches, trainers, travel destinations, etc.)
- Provide risk management protocols and requirements to sport club student organizations, including the responsibility of informing and advising sport club student leaders and their members about university policies, emergency procedures, and accountability practices.
- Build a comprehensive risk analysis per club sport organization, as well as an overall club manual
- Develop and advise the Sport Club advisory board
-Work collaboratively with a wide variety of administrative and academic departments across the university community, to develop an effective sport club program that complements students' academic experience and engagement.

-Monitor paperwork and documentation required including memberships, waiver forms, and certification for coaches, team competition registrations and payments for leagues.
- Monitor and implement University policies and set sport club practices related to driver qualifications and travel regulations, individual sports practices, safety equipment requirements, coaching qualifications and team regulations.
- Provide emergency response coordination for team travel, including weekends.
- Provide financial management including developing the annual budget, maintaining individual club accounts for 26 active Sport Club Teams, monitor account expenses and assist students in fundraising programs.

- Assist in marketing of sport clubs to future and current students
-Staff management of sport club staff including development, training, scheduling, conduct, payroll
- Supervision of programming on evenings and weekends including and supervision of club games and practices and facilities
-Assist in scheduling of indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as rental facilities

Additional Duties
- Manages student payroll, including tracking overall payroll expenses and overseeing payroll requirements for new hires and promotions.
- Assists with office responsibilities including assessment, finances, web site development, marketing, and university procedures
- Represents the office at various campus, division, and community functions, as assigned.
- Assist in Campus Recreation wide programs such as Orientations, student staff training and development and student appreciation events
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field and at least two to three years of related experience preferred. Additional Education or Experience may be required by department program.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Education, Recreation, Sports Management, or related required. Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Recreation, Education, Environmental Studies or related field is preferred, with 1-2 years work experience (graduate assistantships included).
- Desire to work in a student affairs environment.
- Programming experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
- Knowledge of computers and related software.
- Skilled at teaching and presenting.
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple constituencies.
- Ability to organize and manage tasks.
- Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate recreational programs and activities at a collegiate level.
- Ability to resolve conflicts.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the position.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, evenings and weekends as needed.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
- Valid Driver's License
- American Red Cross CPR, First Aid certifications (preferred or obtain upon hire)
Computer Skills
Familiar with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
