Summary:

Accountable for safe & efficient operation of all storage facility equipment in connection with receiving, storing and transferring gas/liquid products. Completes and maintains records, reports and qualifications to comply with Partnership and regulatory requirements. Assist with major equipment repairs and modifications. Communicates with gas control center, business groups, and other operating groups as necessary. Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all compressors, pumps, gas processing units, and associated equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:



  • Operates gas/liquid storage wells, storage pipelines, and pressure control equipment, both manually and through the local Control Center
  • Inspect and maintain facilities and compression/pumps and stations according to procedures
  • Conduct line patrols, respond to one-calls, and witness line crossings and excavations
  • On call for areas of responsibility
  • Maintain acceptable maintenance requirements in order to maximize unit availability and efficient operations
  • Run cleaning and maintenance pigs in storage facility pipelines
  • Know and follow all Partnership procedures, including our critical safe work procedures involving defensive driving, safe work permits, energy isolation, electrical safety, excavation safety and confined space entry



Required Education:



  • High School Diploma or GED


Required Qualifications:



  • Familiar with personal computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project)
  • Strong verbal communication skills together with good interpersonal skills
  • Some travel and overtime is required
  • This is an 8 hour straight day position or (12 hour) shift position requiring night, weekend, and some holiday work


Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:



  • Level C requires a minimum of 0-2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
  • Level B requires a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
  • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in the operations and maintenance of an underground storage facility
  • Detailed knowledge of station piping and flows into and out of the facility
  • Experience in analyzing, adjusting and making minor repairs on compressors, engines, pumps, process facilities and associated equipment at an underground storage facility

  • Frequent exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions
  • Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Frequent heavy lifting up to 50 lbs with and without assistance.
  • Work on and around equipment and facilities that require knowledge of and adherence to safe work procedures and practices
  • Subject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays
  • Reliable attendance at work
