The Opportunity Work with UCF Rosen College! The Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month professor and chair of the Department of Food Service and Lodging Management, anticipated to begin in July 2025. We seek candidates whose experience and plans emphasize fundamental research in food and beverage management, hospitality operations management, restaurant management, lodging management, or similar. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's credentials, background, and experience. Hiring and promotion are based solely on merit. The Chairperson reports to the dean of the Rosen College and is responsible for the department's academic programs (including curriculum), governance, faculty recruitment, planning, and financial affairs. The chairperson acts as the department's advocate to fulfill the mission of the department, college, and university and participates on the College Executive Committee. The chairperson represents the department to students, faculty, administration, and the industry. The chairperson also facilitates faculty participation in interdisciplinary studies programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels and leads the faculty in pursuit of grants and contracts as well as developing a flow of research from the Department. The Rosen College of Hospitality Management is comprised of approximately 69 diverse faculty who represent 18 different countries and are recognized for their research, teaching skills, and professional experience. Our students are exposed to some of the most modern, well-designed learning laboratories as they pursue one of the many B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. majors we offer. Minimum Qualifications: A doctoral degree from an accredited institution with an emphasis in Food Service Management, Lodging Management, Beverage Management, or a Hospitality and Tourism Management related field. Prior experience in a leadership capacity within higher education or industry. To be eligible for appointment as a tenured professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of professor. Preferred Qualifications: A demonstrated research record resulting in publications in highly ranked hospitality, tourism, or business journals and a record of teaching and service that is current and consistent with UCF standards and aspirations. Demonstrated hospitality industry operational management experiences.
