ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Over the past fifty years, Montefiore's Division of Services for Addiction has helped thousands of people enter recovery and re-join their families and communities. Through recovery, individuals are empowered to help find meaning in their lives and integrate back into their communities.

The Assistant Director will be part of the central DOSA leadership team across the 3 Wellness Centers spanning 300,000 annual visits and 200 staff. The Assistant Director will assist with the clinical and administrative operations including the direct oversight for managing HR issues and Labor Relations (e.g., time/attendance), recruitment of staff, on-boarding and off-boarding, regulatory compliance, and special grants/projects. The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with other senior leadership at DoSA including the Director of Finance, The Director of Billing, the Medical Director, Facilities Manager, the Senior Coordinator of Social Services, and the Administrative Nurse Manager. The Assistant Director will work at all DoSA locations and shifts based on clinical and operational needs.

Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the regulatory oversight of Chemical Dependency, Vocational, Primary care and grant programs. Ensures compliance with city, state and federal regulations and standards for clinical components of treatment. Makes on-site inspections of clinical operations and provides guidance at the sites for the administrative staff
  • Assist in the regulatory and operational oversight of the OTP programs. Ensures compliance with city, state and federal regulations and standards for clinical components of treatment. Makes on-site inspections of clinical operations and provides guidance at the sites for the administrative staff
  • Define, manage and monitor clinical productivity. Meet with program staff to ensure staff are meeting program expectations. Assist with workflow recommendations to improve patient care
  • Review, revise, and assist in the development of program policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with bargaining unit and state and federal labor practices. Oversee labor relations issues including counseling employees with time/leave problems and/or work performance problems
  • Interface with MMC Human Resources/Recruiting to facilitate filling of vacant positions including advertising, and scheduling of job interviews. Coordinate with all DoSA hiring managers to ensure efficient screening, interviewing, and hiring
  • Oversee employee time and attendance monitoring and payroll. Communicate with payroll and other MMC related departments
  • Oversee human resources training and staff development. Provide new employee orientation/training/monitoring and all annual trainings are provided and documented appropriately. Manage annual staff evaluations including documentation
  • Provide operational, regulatory and clinical supervision to Operations Manager (primary care), Clinical Manager (Vocational), Clinical Manager (Project Rising), and Grant Managers
  • Work with MIT and software vendors to develop, update, or enhance software
  • Participate in monthly DoSA QA/PI Committee. Gather data as instructed by QA/PI Committee. Manage data systems and graphs to review program goals and measures
  • Ensure all programs have adequate on site administrative and clinical personnel


Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree Social Work or Mental Health required, PHD preferred
  • 5 + years of work experience in similar role
  • New York State license required in Psychology Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling (PhD, LCSW, or LMHC)
  • Bi-lingual English / Spanish preferred
  • Must have expertise in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders and integrated medical care and at least 5 years of experience as a program director/administrator of an outpatient chemical dependency program, OTP or other substance use program
  • Extensive knowledge of OASAS 822 regulations and clinical supervision and training of clinical staff performing addiction treatment required
  • Experience with Joint Commission Regulations required
  • Knowledge of Article 28 and Primary Care services
  • Experience with electronic medical records and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), managing data from multiple sources required
  • Experience working with human resources and labor relations departments required


The regular hours are 9:00 am -5:00 pm. The selected candidate must be able to work various shifts and locations depending on operational needs.

This is a 100% grant funded position.
