Who we are looking for:

We are currently seeking a Business Development Support Specialist for a full-time position supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)/ JETS Program Business Area. This is a Hybrid role based out of our HQ in Vienna, This position requires some travel.

The BD Support Specialist works to generate, qualify, develop, and close opportunities, articulates complex customer requirements to the Horizon capture team, and works on proposal development. Works with Horizon leadership to assess government opportunities and penetration strategies to achieve assigned targets and works with portfolio teams to expand customer presence. Reports to business portfolio management.

What your day-to-day will look like / Duties:

• Plan, document, and manage internal and external BD efforts.
• Analyze the target organization's strategic plans and products.
• Align marketing intelligence with a winning strategy.
• Elicit customer needs and match them to Horizon's capabilities.
• Conduct competitive analysis of opportunities.
• Find and team with other companies required to enhance success.
• Collaborate on win strategies with Portfolio and Proposal Managers
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and/or technology market development efforts.
• Monitor, review, and direct assigned BD activities and weekly knowledge sharing.
• Support and participate in proposal efforts to include proposal strategy, preparation, and review.
• Develop a target account strategy for agencies.

• 10-15 years in business development and account management roles,
• BD experience in Federal Government and DoD, must possess knowledge and familiarity with DLA, its mission, management leaders, and enterprise IT environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Technology savvy (knowledge of enterprise applications, cloud computing, systems development, and cybersecurity)
• Experience responding to US Government Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotes (RFQ), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
• Knowledge of industry business development and proposal management frameworks, such as Shipley capture/proposal management, or similar models.
• Excellent interpersonal skills

What specifically does this role require:

Education: Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred.

Salary Range: Various factors are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, education, certifications, and competencies that align with the specified role, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $140,000- $150,000 +Incentives

Location: Vienna, VA - This is a Hybrid position. Horizon is headquartered in the heart of Tyson's Corner, VA. Occasional travel may be required.
