Job Description
Laundry & Linen Technician - Making Comfort Possible

Because clean sheets and fresh clothes are part of great care.

About the Role:
You might not be in the spotlight, but your work is essential - and deeply appreciated. As a Laundry & Linen Technician, you'll be part of the behind-the-scenes crew that keeps University Health running smoothly and comfortably. From fresh sheets for patients to clean clothes for residents, your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness help us deliver care with dignity and respect.

This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in a job well done, enjoys staying active, and wants to be part of a team that truly makes a difference.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Operate commercial washers and dryers - keeping loads moving and laundry flowing.

  • Fold laundry items (flatwork, garments, linens) by hand or with equipment as needed - accuracy matters!

  • Clean laundry machines regularly to keep everything running smoothly and safely.

  • Label and track personal clothing for residents - no mix-ups on your watch!

  • Learn and remember key delivery and pickup locations throughout the facility, including Acute Care, Clinical, and Ancillary units.

  • Deliver clean linens and collect soiled ones from designated areas - always with a smile.

  • Support your team and work independently when needed - flexibility is key.

What You Bring:
  • Some experience working in a commercial or institutional laundry (or equivalent hands-on training).

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • The ability to connect with patients and co-workers in a positive, respectful way.

  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and move around throughout your shift.

  • A focus on safety, cleanliness, and doing the job right the first time.

  • A team-first attitude with the ability to work independently when needed.

Preferred But Not Required:
  • High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience - we value all kinds of learning!

Why You'll Love It Here:
  • You'll be part of a team that supports each other and takes pride in the details.

  • Your work helps create a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable environment for patients and staff.

  • You'll build skills in logistics, equipment use, and customer service that can grow your career.

  • Every day you'll see the direct impact of your efforts - and that feels pretty great.
