Clinical Decision Support Analyst

Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Type: Full-time
Shift/Schedule: Day/8:30 am - 5:00 pm

JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Decision Support Analyst functions as the coordinator in the daily operations and maintenance of the Clinical Decision Support department.

The Clinical Decision Support Analyst participates in workflow design and development, project implementation, documentation, and end-user training. This position is responsible for problem-solving, assessing processes and issues, and collaborating with other clinical decision support staff and management leaders to develop solutions and action plans. The goal is to create efficient and functional workflows for end-users of GHS's software applications. Understanding basic clinical and financial business processes, data quality issues, data use, and other areas of special focus is crucial. The analyst also recommends changes in the development and maintenance of system standards to ensure consistent implementation of decision support tools across the organization. Interaction with executive management, physicians, department leaders, and clinical staff is essential to provide necessary data and analyses for strategic decision-making.

Day-to-Day Duties:



  • Participate in workflow design and development.
  • Implement projects and document processes.
  • Conduct end-user training.
  • Solve problems and assess processes and issues.
  • Collaborate with clinical decision support staff and management leaders.
  • Develop solutions and action plans for efficient workflows.
  • Understand clinical and financial business processes and data quality issues.
  • Recommend changes in the development and maintenance of system standards.
  • Interact with executive management, physicians, department leaders, and clinical staff.
  • Provide data and analyses for strategic decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of electronic medical records and clinical decision support systems.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Two (2) plus years of product applications support experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare decision support, information systems administration, with at least two (2) years of experience in planning & project management
  • Familiarity with healthcare terminology and costing methodologies
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Intelligence products such as Business Insight, Performance Benchmarks, Analytics solutions highly desired
  • Extensive experience with SQL, Crystal, Access or similar relational databases
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to interact with technical and clinical staff
  • The ability to work independently and exhibit innovative problem-solving skills
