Quality Inspector 3

Quality Control Inspector position within Semi Mechatronics Products (SMP), a Lam Research company. Located in Fremont, CA, SMP manufactures critical mechatronics machined parts and assemblies and supports transfer of mechatronics products to remote factories. SMP reports into Global Product Engineering's Mechatronics group who is responsible for VORTEX wafer handling robots, process chamber mechanisms, and METIUS smart devices. As an SMP QC inspector, you will make a significant impact on the products which support multiple Lam product groups.

Quality Control:

• Perform inspections of machined parts and assemblies for conformance to specifications using precision measuring tools and equipment.
• Operate CMM equipment
• Complete assignments in a timely manner.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records to support quality control procedures.
• Upon identification of defects, create Non-Conformance Report (NCR).
• Complete all paperwork and documentation required with order.

Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable quality standards and regulations.
• Comply with safety standards.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the production team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Monitors critical equipment and instrumentation.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a QC Inspector role, preferably in a machine shop environment.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and equipment. Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Be able to follow instructions and procedures and work with minimal supervision.

Certifications:

• Quality control certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) would be an advantage.

Knowledge:

• Solid understanding of quality control standards (ASME, ANSI) and regulations in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work Swing shift

• Experience with Zeiss Calypso Software

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
