Who You Are
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to assume a leadership role in developing and maintaining APIs for our AI platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate closely with disparate teams, providing technical expertise, and leading initiatives to enhance our AI platform's capabilities. Your deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, cloud infrastructure, and your passion for AI and machine learning will be instrumental in guiding our team to success.
What You Will Do
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership by guiding and mentoring a team of Software Engineers, driving technical excellence in API development and cloud deployment.

API Development: Design, develop, and maintain APIs that expose AI capabilities to various teams, ensuring scalability, reliability, and ease of use.

AI Integration: Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to seamlessly integrate AI models and algorithms into the platform, making them accessible through the APIs.

Kubernetes Expertise: Leverage your experience with Kubernetes to architect and optimize deployment and orchestration of AI services in containerized environments.

Cloud Infrastructure Deployment: Lead the deployment and management of AI services on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure for scalability, security, and cost optimization.

Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the AI platform, optimizing response times and resource utilization.

Monitoring and Logging: Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions to track the performance and health of deployed AI services, enabling issue resolution.

Security Compliance: Ensure that AI services and APIs meet security and compliance standards, collaborating closely with security teams to implement necessary measures.

Documentation: Build clear and comprehensive documentation for APIs, deployment processes enabling teams to use the platform effectively.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience as a Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in building SaaS services at scale with API first design and demonstrated technical leadership skills.
  • 5+ year's experience writing code in Python, Java, Go and/or C/C++.
  • BA / BS degree with 4+ years of experience (or) MS degree with 2+ years of experience as a software development engineer.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts and the ability to collaborate effectively with data scientists and AI engineers.
  • Experience with Docker platform delivery tool or similar.
  • Experience developing distributed systems and implementing them using Kafka, Redis or similar.
  • Experience developing cloud infrastructure services such as AWS, Google Cloud and/or Azure.
  • Experience using Kubernetes architecture.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. The recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
