CMG Ventures is seeking a Director of Operations for our Burlington location to join our executive team. This role will oversee logistics, operations, and warehousing functions across two of our divisions: TCS Event Rentals and Piedmont Portables. Job Responsibilities

Logistics & Operational Planning:

  • Manage all activities related to the logistics, operations, fleet maintenance, and warehouse management of events and rental services, including scheduling trucks, personnel, and equipment across multiple locations and projects.
  • Plan and implement the most efficient routes for trucks/drivers and ensure timely project completion.
  • Develop and utilize systems to track benchmarks, metrics, goals, and timelines to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Regularly update the CEO on operational performance, challenges, and achievements.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the operations team to discuss updates, safety training, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with sales and administrative teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to event execution.
  • Oversee compliance with tent installation regulations and safety protocols, including staking, weighting, and permitting.

Inventory Control & Equipment Management:

  • Ensure that all equipment and tools needed for specific projects are pulled from inventory, staged in pre-load spaces, and documented appropriately.
  • Manage the loading of trucks to prevent delays and errors on job sites.
  • Monitor daily inventory analysis, resolve discrepancies, and oversee stock item accuracy.
  • Work with warehouse teams to maintain an organized and clean environment, ensuring all equipment is stored correctly and available for upcoming projects.
  • Strategize and implement inventory control measures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Personnel Management:

  • Directly supervise 2+ employees, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational standards.
  • Work with HR to recruit, hire, and train operations staff, maintaining a focus on employee engagement, motivation, and performance management.
  • Set individual performance goals for direct reports and provide regular feedback on their progress.
  • Manage conflicts between staff and divisions to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Recommend ongoing training and development opportunities for team members to ensure they stay aligned with company standards and operational goals.

Financial & Safety Goals:

  • Meet or exceed financial targets, such as controlling overtime, managing inventory costs, and optimizing route efficiency.
  • Ensure all team members meet established safety and quality standards, continuously improving operational safety procedures.
  • Regularly assess financial metrics and operational costs to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset that drives continuous improvement in operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • High School Diploma required; associate's degree preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Prefer 5-10 years of related operational and project management experience in the event rental industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) or similar business management frameworks, utilizing tools and processes to align teams, promote accountability, and achieve organizational goals.
  • Strong ability to manage teams, clients, and logistics under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting on operational metrics.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and manage diverse teams.
  • High level of attention to detail and an ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other related software tools.
  • A valid driver's license required

Benefits & Compensation:

  • The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - $110,000, plus eligibility for a yearly performance-based bonus.
  • The pay range is determined by the role, work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant experience.
