The Medical Laboratory Scientist position is responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses in the hematology, blood bank, special chemistry, chemistry, and microbiology departments in the laboratory.

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory testing, laboratory specimen collection and is responsible for quality control and regular maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Performs routine lab testing in hematology, blood bank, special chemistry, chemistry and microbiology departments following proper laboratory procedure and follow up of critical lab values
  • Performs and verifies quality control and instrument maintenance and troubleshooting

Qualifications
    • Bachelor degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology degree from an accredited institution or Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal Register Sec 493.1489 & General Supervisor under Federal Register Sec 493.1461
    • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
    • MLS/MT-ASCP or AMT (non regulatory)
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English
    • Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email and web browser

    OR

    • Associate degree or Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal Register Sec 493.1489
    • Team member must present record of certification to the Laboratory Director within 1 year of employment and/or within 90 days of expiration of MLT/CLA-ASCP certification. (non regulatory)
    • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
