Sr. Director of Product Management - Enterprise Data and Integrations

  • Lead a team of product owners, scrum masters, and analysts in the overall development and enhancement of products and services within the business area.
  • Establish a strategy / direction for our enterprise data usage and the ingestion of partner student data.

  • Act as lead business consultant / solution architect for complex, cross-functional initiatives, advising business stakeholders on potential best practices, and providing direction to ensure timely execution of goals.

  • Lead innovation efforts to identify and implements solutions to improve data quality, reliability and user confidence

  • Manage a team of business data analysts in support of day-to-day operations and ongoing improvement efforts.

  • Lead efforts, as business needs evolve, to optimize the use of data to support business operations and reporting.

  • Embrace ownership of enterprise and partner data - how we get it, what we get, its accuracy, its timeliness, how it can be improved to improve our business.

  • Establish a roadmap for the long-term improvement of data for existing partners, along with the systems that support is intake.

  • Provide oversight and management of the onboarding of new partner data into existing intake processes.

  • Gather, research, and define requirements from business owners and translate business needs into solutions/system design.

  • Leverage stakeholder insights and business objectives when establishing requirements and translating them into goals for development and analysis teams.

  • Good knowledge of data analysis and integration principles, technologies, data modeling and architecture.

  • Explain data concepts, development techniques, and results in non-technical terms.

  • Translate end-user requirements into complex technical specifications.

  • Familiarity with a standard post-secondary education admissions processes and systems.

  • Work with data architects and Engineering teams to set the vision for the solutions and build a roadmap to successful implementation.

  • Collaborate with team members to identify needs and opportunities for improvement.

  • Work with design team to analyze and clarify requirements for projects.

  • Assist business stakeholders in prioritizing requirements and system enhancements.

  • Work with Project Managers to develop project schedules for related projects.

  • Responsible for flagging the timing of cross-functional deliverables.

  • Maintain product consistency and respond to design issues throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Build and maintain business relationships vital to the success of projects.

  • Develop product roadmap based on future technology, business expectations and needs.

  • Support day-to-day operations and ensure business issues are handled in a timely manner.

  • Manage assigned resources and ensure their ongoing growth and development.

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

  • At least 10 years of product management and/or business analysis experience, preferably with analysis and data projects.

  • Strong analytic skills with experience analyzing complex systems.

  • Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.

  • Strong relationship building skills; comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in analyzing complex systems; excellent problem solving, and interpersonal communication skills are a must.

  • Good understanding of data architecture preferred.

  • Detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication; able to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing to business partners.

  • Good listening skills, with the ability to uncover underlying needs.

  • Experience working on data products and warehousing projects

  • Must have a desire to achieve excellent project outcomes and exceed stakeholder expectations.

  • Works independently with limited supervision, coordinating projects to closure.

  • Must have experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies. (Waterfall, Iterative, AGILE)

  • Experience working with university admissions systems, such as Peoplesoft or Banner.
