Purpose of Position
The Assistant Director, Donor Engagement contributes to NKU's fundraising success by designing and coordinating donor experiences and connections to the impact of their giving. This position is an instrumental part of University Advancement, ensuring donors receive timely thank you messages and are regularly engaged.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate opportunities for donors to experience and understand the impact of their giving such as storytelling, donor/beneficiary connections, and other unique events, reports, and touchpoints that connect them to their philanthropy.
  • Execute the acknowledgment process. Responsible for routing, personalizing, and sending acknowledgments to our donors to properly and promptly thank them for their gifts.
  • In collaboration with other areas of University Advancement, coordinate and enhance customized donor programs to ensure we recognize donors' special moments, milestones, and behavior.
  • Manage various donor relations events throughout the year.
  • Create and maintain a resource that identifies on-campus engagement and giving opportunities to share with donors and friends as well as University Advancement staff.
  • Provide administrative support for donor visits and general donor relations operations, including packaging and mailing donor gifts, managing communications, and coordinating outreach.
  • Maintain NKU's donor database related to donor relations, ensuring touchpoints and outreach are captured accurately and kept up-to-date.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of university priorities, programs, and initiatives to identify possible engagement opportunities for donors and prospects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Some weekend/evening work is required.
