Summary

United Language Group looking for a dedicated Healthcare Community Navigator to help provide education, community outreach, and enrollment support for health plans for the Federal Exchange. This role will be focused on supporting the local community, with an emphasis on the Latino population, to promote greater health equity. The Navigator will work with local influencers to host and attend events to promote the advantages of healthcare plans, provide assistance in navigating the enrollment process and support potential members through personal engagement and interaction. The Navigator's role is to help the general population by educating and facilitating healthcare enrollment for people who need health insurance. The Bilingual Community Navigator will provide information and assistance in both English and Spanish to ensure language and cultural support is accessible to the greatest number of people within the local community. A successful candidate should be well versed in the healthcare system and will be required to complete training and the government Navigator certification.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities

  • Work with your manager and community stakeholders to help promote healthcare advantages to potential members and targets within the community.
  • Attend agreed-upon local events to interact with people and provide promotional information for education and engagement at the event.
  • Host booths at events to speak with potential members interested in obtaining information on health plans and direct them to the correct website or contact number for further support.
  • Assist callers who need help navigating the Federal Exchange and provide education and support for enrollment of government-approved plans to ensure people choose the best plans for their needs.
  • Track engagement and drive health equity by supporting populations who have limited English proficiency.
  • Engage potential members in both English and Spanish based on needs and preference.
  • Track interactions and engagements to measure the success of events for reporting purposes.
  • Other duties as may be reasonably requested.



Education, Experience + Skills

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • An active member of the Latino community.
  • Associates Degree preferred or relevant professional working experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare or customer service.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to offer personable and supportive in-person communication.
  • Organized decision-maker with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and database programs).
