The HR Operations Specialist serves as the frontline of customer support within the HR Service Center and collaborates closely with the assigned HR Business Partner(s) at each of the Sonepar USA operating companies.

In addition to providing excellent customer service, this role serves as a primary lead in processing one or more of the Sonepar US operating company's payroll and handles many of the day-to-day administrative tasks and inquiries, including HR, Benefits, and Payroll related transactions.

This critical position is based in our Charleston, South Carolina office with working hours 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Our Charleston office operates in a hybrid work arrangement (3-days in office).

In this role, your responsibilities include:




  • Processing Bi-Weekly, or Weekly Payroll to one or more operating companies (to include, but not limited to: loading and auditing hours, processing and paying commissions, calculating checks, expenses, tuition reimbursement, and special pay scenarios)Maintain and update time systems
  • Provide employee support in Benefits, 401k, employee relations, payroll, tax, and other related areas.
  • Partner with various teams to problem solve and implement employee impacting solutions.
  • Calculating, compute, export and audit employee timecards
  • Partner with Treasury and AP teams to send applicable payroll reports and monitor banking limits
  • Processing associates going out on leave (FMLA, STD, LOA) and monitoring deductions with the benefits team
  • Responding and entering wage withholdings
  • Collaborating and working cross functionally with other HR team members and departments
  • Executing other HR shared services processes and activities associated with supporting active and form Associates


What you bring to this role:




  • Bachelor's Degree (4-year college or technical school) is desired, preferred field of study Human Resources, Finance or Business Administration
  • Must be authorized to work for Sonepar in the United States without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
  • 1-2 years relatable work experience
  • Demonstrates professional behavior and the ability to maintain confidentiality on a variety of topics
  • Exercises good judgment and manage complexities
  • Actively supports our mission, vision and core values
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to manage competing work demands and projects simultaneously
  • Instills trust and partnership through collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to effective communication (written/verbal)
  • Strong PC skills, particularly MS Excel



Preferred Experience:



  • Experience with payroll and time software systems, specifically Dayforce
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ability to work in a highly confidential environment
  • Must be comfortable with heavy data entry to ensure ahigh accuracy rate
  • Ability to adapt to a fast pace changing environment and to approach challenges with creativity and resourcefulness
