Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform receiving inspection of purchased and in-house machined and fabricated parts, castings, and assemblies.
- Create equipment setups and use tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to perform complex inspection on purchased/manufactured parts and record results.
- Accurately read and comprehended documentation relating to materials.
- Assuring compliance of product received from suppliers to contractual requirements by reading and interpreting Purchase Order notes, Quality requirements, and Blueprints.
- Ensure proper documentation is received from the supplier as specified by the Purchase Order requirements (such as Certificate of Conformance, First article Inspection, etc.)
- Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings based on geometric dimension and tolerance.
- Read and interpret, parts lists, Bill of Materials, manufacturing instructions, workmanship standards, process and test specifications.
- Complete Non-Conforming Material Forms and create Supplier Root Cause / Corrective Action Reports and provide to purchasing and next level leader as appropriate.
- Move non-conforming parts to hold area and follow up with purchasing.
- Assist in the development of inspection criteria and standards and, help recommend / maintain ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Ability to read blueprints required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to use critical thinking skills and escalate as appropriate.
- Experience with measurement equipment such a caliber, micrometers, tape measure a plus
- Comfortable with learning new software programs, EPICOR experience a plus
- Good computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be comfortable in a manufacturing production floor environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Walking/Standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift, up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach.
- Ability to work extended hours.
