Brad Foote Gear Works is hiring a Industrial Maintenance Technician position on 1st shift in our manufacturing facility based in Cicero, IL. This role ensures operation of machinery and CNC equipment by completing preventive and maintenance repair requirements on motors, conveyor systems, and all mechanical aspects of the CNC's and equipment; following Brad Foote's procedures effectively while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend documents including technical information. Ability to speak effectively with vendors and as a representative of the Company. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several variables at the same time. Operators are called upon to lift and carry heavy objects in a heavy manufacturing environment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee is required to bend and squat. The employee is required to operate heavy equipment such as cranes and man lifts. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.Considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping and handling structural material is required. The employee must have the ability to keep hands and arms steady; must have the ability to quickly move and must be able to grasp with two hands; must have the ability to use the abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing. The employee may occasionally lift and or move up to 80 pounds or more with assistance. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a factory production work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to or works near moving mechanical parts; change in indoor climate conditions and vibration.Will be exposed to seasonal conditions.Will also be exposed to dirt, dust and other by products of heavy fabrication work.
