Duties/Responsibilities
Coordination of the Young Scholars Program, YSP:

  • Recruit and conduct educational activities to inform high school students and teachers of the opportunities in Young Scholars.
  • Assist with campus-wide application process.
  • Schedule and conduct the YSP interns and counselor interviews, process the hiring proposals and personnel documentation
  • Help supervise YSP participants when on campus to assure a safe and productive environment.
  • Work with supporters of YSP participants so that fees and other required information is provided in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate annual YSP conference for all participating Young Scholars students, faculty, and staff.

Duties/Responsibilities
Participate in statewide recruiting programs that facilitate enrollment in the CAES, with emphasis on enrollment of undergraduates from underrepresented groups clubs such as Minorities in Agriculture and Natural Resources Related Sciences (MANRRS) club:

  • Co-advise and oversee pre-collegiate JR. MANRRS club in Athens-Clarke County community
  • Provide cross-disciplinary participation in student activities, planning, and success
  • Facilitate participation in regional and national conferences and serve as a travel leader
  • Assist the Director of Diversity and Inclusive Excellence with retention of freshman and transfer students, retaining upperclassmen students through leadership opportunities and bridging CAES resources to facilitate student success.

Duties/Responsibilities
Assist the Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs, the Director of Inclusive Excellence and the Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs in recruitment of underrepresented undergraduates, including OIE programs:

  • Assist with identifying students at HBCUs that are eligible for the program.
  • Assist with application process and help students, as needed, apply for the program.
  • Partner with the CAES Director of Student Recruitment with recruitment and retention efforts of students.
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of the Emerging and Rising Scholars Internship program.
  • Assist admitted students and facilitate transition to UGA
  • Assist and coordinate with administrators, faculty, and staff to assure that fees are paid, and students receive stipends.

Manage Day-to-Day Operations of Office of Inclusive Excellence:

  • Provide customer service and support by corresponding with students, faculty, administrators, and other departments via email, telephone, and meetings
  • Effectively facilitate and promote campus relationships with other departments on campus
  • Provide data and create reports for the Office of Inclusive Excellence Director
  • Serve as general office manager for Office of Inclusive Excellence
