Applications are invited for a one-year appointment, starting fall 2024, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Lecturer in the area of Black media studies-in the departments of Media Studies and/or African American and African Studies-at the University of Virginia in the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. This position may be renewable for an additional year contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funding. This is a 12-month salaried position with full-time benefits. Appropriate research and mentoring support will be provided, including faculty mentoring and professional trajectory coaching. In addition to the home department(s), the Postdoctoral Research Associate will primarily be associated with the Black Fantastic Media Research Lab. Responsibilities would include:
