Job Summary

The Senior ESOH Manager applies expert knowledge and is responsible the effective management of NGA's ESOH Management program in accordance with accepted Federal, DoD, and other professional standards. Supervises ESOH managers to ensure they are highly effective subject matter experts in their assigned duties. Provides exceptional written and oral communications, direct ESOH team responses, achieve high customer satisfaction, and guide ESOH team education and training.

Primary Duties

  • Development, implement, and sustainment of TheEnvironmentalProgram tailored to all facets of the operation to include: Air Quality, Asbestos, Lead, Cultural Resources, Natural Resources, HAZWASTE, Hazardous Materials, managingenvironmentalpermits, Spill Prevention & Response, Solid Waste, Stormwater, Surface & Stormwater testing, Pollution Prevention and Otherenvironmentalrequirements as stated in our PWS and Federal, State, Local, and DoD.

  • Perform annual professional safety and health assessments and inspections to eliminate or control physical conditions, operating practices or other factors that pose unnecessary risks to personal health and safety. Prepare written reports of the findings and recommend/coordinate corrective actions. Analyzes data gathered from literature or collected from investigations.

  • Develop, monitor and instituting programs and procedures to ensurethe industrial hygiene program is compliant, safe and legal operation and maintenance of facilities. Plans to include: Industrial Hygiene Program, Indoor air quality investigation program, Respirator Protection Program, Hearing Conservation and Noise, Sight Conservation, Abatement Program.

  • Responsible for assisting the site ESOH program manager with administering the ESOH program for NGA St louis and the Arnold site. Primary ESOH subject matter expert during supervisor's absence.

  • Supervise ESOH Managers and provide expert knowledge leadership managing over 39 ESOH plans and activities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with direct reports to set goals that support the strategic ESOH plan.

  • Provide training on any of the ESOH Disciplines

  • Provide ESOH advice and guidance to operations as needed.

  • Act as primary ESOH Manager and ESOH subject matter expert in PM's absence. Co-leads safety program during scheduled and unplanned program manager absences.

  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • Master's degree in an Environmental, Safety, Occupational Health (ESOH) related field preferred.

  • 8 or more years' ESPO Project Manager experience required.

  • 20 years of direct project management Environmental, Safety, or Occupational Health experience preferred.

  • Professional Certification preferred in: Industrial Hygiene, Safety OR Environmental Engineering (Industrial Hygiene - Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH); Safety - Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Environmental Engineering - Professional Engineer (PE) are all acceptable certifications)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI government security clearance with polygraph is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ESOH Program Management experience and ability to manage complex ESOH program with strong working knowledge in many ESHO

  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team builder. An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization.

  • A well-rounded knowledge of government and commercial outsourcing service contracting environments.

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and prepare operating and contractual documents.

  • Ability to work effectively as a supervisor and peer to accomplish necessary work.
