Introduction

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking a professional, talented, and motivated individual who is interested in a position as a temporary Inmate Programs Assistant located in the Adult Detention Center.

Job Summary

The Inmate Programs Assistant position job duties include, but are not limited to: assist Inmate Programs Manager with assigned duties: plan, organize, and coordinate recruiting and deployment of volunteers in support of inmate programs; facilitate inmate programing and educational testing; distribute programming materials to inmates within the facility, monitor and respond to inmate requests as necessary and appropriate; and other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in a field related to the assigned program or department; two (2) years related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

The Sheriff's Office provides service to the community 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. This position will work 37.50 hours per week and may be required to work occasional nights and weekends.

Selection process includes review of the Applicant Screening Questionnaire and County employment application, in-person interview(s), and an intensive background investigation to include fingerprinting, credit check, driving record, and polygraph examination.

Must pass a VCIN/NCIC written examination and become VCIN/NCIC certified within one year of employment.
