SUMMARY

This posting is to recruit those interested in working for Gateway Technical College's School of Health.

Casual positions are part-time/temporary positions that are hired for a specific period of time. These positions provide technical, clerical, or other general support to faculty and staff of Gateway Technical College.

Casual hires are under the supervision of the department and/or area that has hired them.

Positions in recruitment:
Skills Lab (Kenosha, Racine, & Burlington) - Skills Lab Casuals assist students in skills classes and reinforce learning through skill practice, participate in activities to support the educational process, set up / clean up classroom lab space, maintain lab supplies and equipment, monitor open lab, and run simulators in a simulation lab (additional training required).


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to work the required hours for the position. Shift times may range in time starting as early as 6:30 am and up to 9:00 pm in the evening. The labs are open Monday thru Saturday.
  • Each department/area will require specific skills and abilities. It is the responsibility of the employee to review and discuss the requirements of the position for which they are applying.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION

  • To work in the nursing skills labs one
    1. Must have current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • To work in the simulation labs one:
    1. Must have current licensure as a Registered Nurse, or Paramedic, or be credentialed as a Nationally Registered EMT-P
  • Have a minimum of one-year of working experience in your field
  • Each department/area may have conditions specific to its position. Employees are expected to review requirements of each position and supply required or needed documents, credentials, or exams to their supervisor.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available. International Students seeking employment must adhere to the rules of the F-1 or M-1 visa in order to work on campus.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Age 16 or older.
  • Employment eligibility for the United States.
  • Gateway does not sponsor employment based visas.
  • International Students:
    1. Must be a current student (enrolled) at Gateway Technical College
    2. Must have a F-1 or M-1 Visa
    3. Once a job offer has been obtained:
      1. Supervisor will provide details of employment to HR and request an Intent Letter
      2. International Student will obtain a Social Security Number for tax purposes
