SUMMARY: The successful candidate will join a team of Design Enablement engineers enabling software tools and environment used in supporting PDK, photomask and design verification teams. The position will involve the installation, maintenance and automation of EDA software and infrastructure. This candidate will also be doing basic hands-on layout work supporting Frame generation (PCM, IPM, alignment marks placement). Also, creating/modifying scripts to perform Boolean manipulation for photomask processing. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. EDA Tool Setup and Configuration:
  • Install, configure, and maintain EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Assura, QRC, PVS, MaskCompose, Spectre; Siemens Calibre; Silvaco SmartSpice, Expert, Gateway; and other EDA relevant tools.
  • Set up tool's environment and workflow for Technology Development, Photomask, PDK, and Design Enablement groups.
2. Tool Integration and Interoperability:
  • Integrate EDA tools into the design flow to ensure seamless data exchange between tools (e.g., between schematic capture, layout, and verification tools)
  • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Tcl, Python, Perl, PerlTk, SKILL, SVRF) to automate tool integration and data transfer
3. Tool Customization and Flow Development:
  • Customize EDA tools to meet specific project requirements (e.g., techfile, display.drf, layer map, layer properties, custom menus, hotkeys, or design rule configurations).
  • Create and maintain documentation for tool setups and custom flows.
  • Basic hands-on layout work supporting Frame generation (PCM, IPM, alignment marks placement).
  • Create/modify scripts to perform Boolean manipulation for photomask processing.
4. User Support and Training:
  • Provide technical support to Technology Development, Photomask and Design Enablement groups for EDA tool-related issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for users on how to use EDA tools effectively.
  • Gather feedback from users to improve tool setups and workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering although MS preferred. Hands-on experience required.
  • Proficient in scripting such as C-shell, PERL, Python, object-oriented programming skill strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of circuits, solid state, RF, and/or semiconductor manufacturing process preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging mindset. Team oriented spirit and willing to wear multiple hats and eager to learn new skills

The estimated base salary range for the position is $87,900-$168,000. The pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, job-related experience, skills and level of the position.
