Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Parnassus Operations Manager, the Building Maintenance Worker performs semi-skilled, sub-journeyman level tasks while working independently, as a member of a crew or in support of journeyman craft personnel in the performance of miscellaneous maintenance/repair work.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $29.34 - $39.49 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

• Five years experience working with hand tools in a maintenance environment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work swing shift.
• Ability to lift 70 pounds, to bend, stoop, crawl, climb ladders and walk for extended periods; certified by a physical examination.
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Establishes friendly, courteous and professional relationships with hospital staff, patients and the public.
• Provides high quality professional services to maintain the reliability of all Medical Center systems and equipment while maintaining a safe, clean and responsive environment for patient care.
