WAVE is currently looking for an Electrician to join our team!

This position is responsible for activities associated with building and equipment electrical requirements. An electrician must demonstrate the ability to plan, layout and perform a variety of electrical installations, or repair a full-range of electrical components such as circuits, servo controls, rollform controls and PLC. This position must perform various mechanical and electrical maintenance on all machinery and building components.

General Responsibilities:



  • Design, install and maintain electronic systems; both simple and complex electrical control panels.
  • Macke changes to PLC programs on CPU-controlled equipment.
  • Identify complex units, determine root cause of issues, repair or replace defective parts and wiring.
  • Document computer programming and wiring schematic changes.
  • Assemble and install electrical components for conveyors, uncoilers and cut-off presses.
  • Install multiple interlocking safety devices, conduit, electrical panels and other accessory components.
  • Inspect various equipment required by OSHA and apply all compliance requirements.
  • Fabricate simple brackets, conduit and hangers, as required.
  • Maintain spare part inventory.
  • Perform basic machine preventive maintenance on presses, roll form and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner; use proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
  • Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
  • Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.


In addition to the above general responsibilities, an electrician must preserve a safe work environment and work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs.

Measures of Effectiveness; including, but not limited to:



  • Safety - OSHA rate, compliance to regulations/policies, evidence of risk reduction, engagement in 8-Step Safety Process, near-miss reporting
  • Quality - User-friendly and safe controls, ability to recognize defects and implement corrective actions through visual inspection while machine is in operation
  • Productivity - Continuous improvement activities, downtime %, troubleshooting, programming logic
  • Communication - Shift handoff and line preparation, user-friendly and timely change management, kaizen event participation


Qualifications:

In addition to the general Level 6 Electrician qualifications, an Electrician Advanced must demonstrate proficiency and achieve results in accordance to established qualitative and quantitative performance metrics assigned by the General Manager. These metrics may include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Assigned or dedicated trainer for developing other electrical personnel
  • Experience and knowledge that presents a degree of difference from others in similar department
  • Top 5% performer in assigned electrical metrics
  • Other per GM designation
