What you will do:
Respond to FERC compliance related inquiries from individuals and teams across the company. Build and support positive relationships with groups responsible for FERC Compliance activities. Work as the project lead on FERC compliance matters. Lead maintenance of the FERC Compliance Procedures Manual. Establish and continuously improve practical metrics to confirm compliance with FERC rules and regulations and FERC gas tariffs. Develop and deliver in-person and computer-based FERC compliance communication and training programs. Proactively analyze sophisticated compliance issues and work with FERC Compliance Management and Subject Matter Authorities to evaluate solutions, including business process design requirements. Monitor FERC regulations and tariffs and identify potential impacts on jurisdictional assets. Incorporate regulatory and tariff changes into the FERC Compliance program, as appropriate. Support the development and maintenance of governance and compliance documents. Aid with research, benchmarking, and drafting procedures. Assist in the development of responses to FERC and customer data requests including audits. Through routine meetings with Senior Leaders, identify and communicate key risks and FERC regulatory and enforcement findings and trends. Research, compile, and prepare summaries to support compliance recommendations and communicate changes in regulations.
Who You Are:
8+ years of experience in interstate natural gas pipeline functions. Experience in natural gas regulations, commercial activities, shipper services, EBBs, and day-to-day operations considered an asset. Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree considered an asset. General knowledge of US Code of Federal Regulations Title 18 and US FERC Gas Tariffs. The ability to quickly research, translate and communicate FERC regulatory and tariff requirements to internal, cross-discipline groups. Must be able to work under tight deadlines with the best information available. Ability to establish relationships across a broad range of people and departments. Confident in developing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations to groups and individuals, including written and verbal information and instructions. Ability to effectively solve problems by using strong analytical skills to reach a logical conclusion.
