Position Overview: The primary focus of this role will be to manage construction projects, ensuring that they are scheduled and built according to plans and specifications, overseeing budget and communications, and overseeing the design and safety during construction. Primary Responsibilities:
- Review plans for conformance with applicable specifications, building codes, regulations, etc.
- Act as a liaison between clients, contractors, and design professionals.
- Review/develop cost estimates, change orders, requests for information and project submittals.
- Report project status regarding budget, schedule, and workmanship to project owners.
- Review technical & price proposals, task budgets and invoices by utilizing/collaborating with clients' Internal Services Departments (i.e. Marketing, Accounting/Finance, Contract Administrators, etc.).
- Collaborate and coordinate with other support team members such as Landscape Architecture, Electrical, Traffic, Plan Review, Program Management, Environmental, Utilities, Hydraulics, Bridge, Geotech, Material Testing and others to ensure delivery of projects on schedule and budget.
- Oversee contract correspondence.
- Resolve disputes between contractors and project owners.
- Monitor and assess project staffing needs.
- Supervise inspectors, materials testers and other PRIME associates assigned to a project.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE), or Construction-Manager-In-Training (CMIT), or Project Management Professional (PMP), or Professional Engineer (PE).
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of project management practices and principles.
- Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, materials testing and other engineering practices and principles.
- Knowledge and ability to interpret construction contracts and plans.
