The Business Improvement Lead will drive process optimization and efficiency across our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and a passion for driving operational excellence. This role focuses on identifying and implementing process improvements across our manufacturing and engineering operations to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall quality.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • As a Business Improvement Lead, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and implementing fit-for-purpose solutions to support business needs and standards.
  • Partner with the business on identifying gaps, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and execute Lean Six Sigma projects, utilizing DMAIC methodology to drive measurable improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process inefficiencies, waste, and quality issues, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to identify improvement opportunities and ensure successful project implementation.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and maintain metrics to monitor progress and impact of improvement initiatives.
  • Lead change management efforts associated with continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation of all improvement projects, including project plans, process maps, and progress reports.
  • Provide training and mentorship on Lean Six Sigma principles and tools to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Lean Six Sigma Project Leadership: Lead and manage Lean Six Sigma projects, utilizing DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology to drive process improvements and achieve measurable results. Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement, and use statistical tools to support decision-making processes. Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency across the organization. Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to team members on Lean Six Sigma principles and tools, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for improvement initiatives. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report on the progress of Lean Six Sigma projects, using key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for further improvement.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial and/or process improvement roles.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred, not required.
  • Black Belt or Green Belt LSS certification is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools/techniques/methods (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Agile, etc.).
  • Advanced problem-solving skills. Identify and recommend alternative solutions and translate complex concepts into simplified and understandable examples.
  • Broad strategic thinker, with a clear vision and direction to improve business performance.
  • Advanced project management skills including oversight of project teams, resource identification, budgets, scheduling, and planning.
  • Demonstrated implementation and change management skills.
  • Be flexible and nimble to change! Including leveraging the best methodology and/or approach to solve business problems.
  • Highly capable of working across all levels to influence key stakeholders and lead through influence. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy, desire to learn new skills, and desire to continue assuming broader leadership roles in the organization. Ability to communicate effectively at senior levels of the organization.

Work Hours:

This role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for both in-office and hybrid working arrangements. Minimal travel may be required to support business initiatives.
