Provides clinical support to health care professionals to ensure the delivery of quality health care services.
Team members hired into the Ambulatory- Resource Center will provide temporary clinical staffing support at 200+ Corewell Health- West ambulatory practices across the system. Assignments vary in length from 1 day (covering ill call, scheduled vacation, etc.) up to 3-4 months (covering leaves of absence, open positions, etc.) This position does require some travel to various site around West Michigan. The goal is to keep team members as close to home as possible while meeting business needs. Team members will not be required to travel over 45 miles (one way) from home address on file to daily work location. Mileage Reimbursement is paid when locations meet requirements.
Collaborates with the entire health care team, as appropriate, and uses assessment skills to obtain information regarding to the patients actual or potential status. Uses their knowledge and skills as delegated by the provider to work together to prevent when possible, and mitigate when necessary, already present physiological complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatment. Essential Functions:
- Rooming patients (obtaining vitals, chief complaint and taking medical histories, medication reconciliation)
- Preparing patients for exam and/ or assisting physician during exam
- Point of Care (POC) testing, electrocardiograms (ECGs), wound care
- Preparing and Administering medications including immunizations/ Injections
- Updating patient electronic medical record (Epic)
- Clean & stock rooms
- Answering phones and creating patient encounters
- Prescription medication refills and other clinical administrative work (chart prep, Epic In-basket management)
Qualifications
- Graduate of approved paramedic program
- Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through less than 2 years of experience as a paramedic
- Successful completion of competency-based orientation program
- Paramedic, Licensed (PARAMEDIC) Required upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) 90 Days Required
