About the Team: The Senior Cloud Engineer position would be part of our Cloud Infrastructure team. We work collaboratively with other Cloud Operations teams and Information Security to manage, deploy, and maintain our AWS Infrastructure, supporting multiple AWS Accounts and cloud-based services. With a focus on automation and deployment of cloud infrastructure and support for best-practice standards and controls to provide a flexible and consistent experience to our our teams. The Senior Cloud Engineer will report to the Manager of Cloud Infrastructure and be part of our Cloud Operations organization. Responsibilities: Contribute technical efforts to design and deploy infrastructure services to the cloudLead projects to improve scalability, security, and automationIdentify and help improve Infrastructure tools/services with automation and process enhancementsTroubleshoot and maintain important production and testing infrastructure. Identify recurring issues and collaborate with Release and Operations team(s) on resolution planWork with other teams to understand software and requirements, prioritize issues and set clear expectations on deliverables and resolutionCreate knowledge base articles that can be used by our organization in response to routine or complex incidentsParticipate in 24x7 on-call rotation Qualifications: Knowledge of standard internet protocols including: DNS, HTTP/S, SSH, TLSKnowledge of AWS cloud services (EC2, VPC, IAM, etc.)Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to take the lead on projects and provide feedback and statusYour Education & Experience: 5+ years of Infrastructure design, implementation, and support experience3 - 5 years experience working in a regulated environmentExperience working with Unix/Linux and Windows systemsExperience scripting using Python, Ruby, Bash, or other equivalent languageExperience providing production operations support on client-facing systems and products in a hosting/vendor environment. The Base salary pay range for this position is $114,750-151,018. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
