The Controls Technician will be responsible for maintaining proper functioning of machinery and electrical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, facilities systems, utility systems, and following all OSHA and facility-specific protocols (including LOTO, Arc Flash, etc.).

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Excellent ability to utilize electronic testing equipment, wiring diagrams and applications/tools available on the department laptop, including troubleshooting and programming of Rockwell and Siemens PLC's.
  • Plant and Controls networking experience is desired.
  • Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards.
  • Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for facilities and equipment.
  • Small project management experience is desired.
  • Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment regulations.
  • Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy.
  • Help to maintain parts inventories and specify parts in emergency situation when required.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, including writing WO's, reporting safety concerns and maintaining electrical schematics.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness are expected. There will be times that overtime, or weekend work will be critical functions of the job.

Education:



  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Maintenance or Engineering or equivalent job experience.


Qualifications and/or Experience:



  • 5+ year's job related work experience in Electrical Controls


Environment:



  • Exposure to moving equipment
  • Inside/Outside work
  • Heat may exceed 90 F
  • Humidity may exceed 80%
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+
  • Personal Protective Equipment required


Physical Characteristics:



  • Frequent standing, stooping
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Occasional sitting
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding


Position Type:



  • Full time
  • 1st Shift
  • Overtime expected per business demand
