Job Summary Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Lab Technician Senior to support the Art Studios. This position plays a pivotal role in the art studio operations and is responsible for maintaining equipment inventory, performing preventative maintenance, documenting standard operating procedures, overseeing supply inventory and purchasing, and overseeing open studio time for students. This position works closely with the faculty and staff of the Arts and Composition division to ensure optimal classroom learning experiences through equipment preparation, administrative support for the art program, and assistance with hands-on activities as required. Essential Functions 25% Coordinates with program faculty and staff in the set-up, delivery, and clean-up of classroom learning activities. Ensures that all equipment and supplies are in good working condition and ready for use. Assists with art, photography and digital studio experiences as needed. Arranges for life drawing models and faculty substitutes. 25% Provides organization and oversight for the studio art and digital art labs; receives, maintains and inventories supplies and equipment; establishes and maintains equipment maintenance and inventory records; performs equipment or technology installations, maintenance and related troubleshooting; monitors equipment and supplies and checks for proper storage, effective operation and preventative maintenance; analyzes requirements for supplies and initiates the purchase of equipment; contacts vendors for specific equipment information. In collaboration with faculty and staff, assists with and develops policies and procedures for studio art and digital art lab experiences in relation to instructional programs; ensures that all studio and digital art experiences are conducted following all necessary safety protocols. 25% Provides administrative support for the art program. Assists with the planning and implementation of various divisional events/programs and services including intercampus collaborations such as the installation of art displays, coordination of visiting artists and special events related to the instructional program, and the Mariposa Literary Review. Assists with designing divisional and division event promotional materials. Provide technical assistance on projects and programs. Collaborates with the division's other Administrative Specialist, Sr. on administrative tasks related to class scheduling and staffing. Assists in providing advisement to students regarding the instructional program. Attend meetings as needed. 15% Supervises and monitors students during open studio time and in the preparation and cleaning of art and digital lab equipment and supplies, ensuring that all protocols are followed. In collaboration with faculty and staff, assists with and develops policies and procedures for studio art and digital art lab experiences in relation to instructional programs; ensures that all studio and digital art experiences are conducted following all necessary safety protocols. 10% Perform other duties commensurate to grade level of position. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience such as providing assistance to students in an instructional setting; and/or preparing, maintaining and delivering equipment, supplies or other related instructional materials used for laboratory activities in area of assignment. OR High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of full-time equivalent experience such as providing assistance to students in an instructional setting; and/or preparing, maintaining and delivering equipment, supplies or other related instructional materials used for laboratory activities in area of assignment. An equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications
2. Educational or work experience in studio art disciplines, supplies, equipment, and safety protocols 3. One (1) year of direct support experience in studio art disciplines offered at EMCC, supplies, equipment, and safety protocols 4. Experience using multiple computer software programs such as Google tools, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Photoshop, and InDesign to create documents, spreadsheets, flyers, programs, posters, etc.. 5. Experience in maintaining records and tracking and organizing data using physical and electronic filing systems. 6. Experience working independently and with initiative to complete tasks and problem-solve Special Working Conditions
