Summary
Leads warehouse staff and allocates workload to achieve operational objectives. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing standard work instructions in the Warehouse. In addition, the Warehouse Lead will ensure effective planning, preparation, and execution of product in accordance with customer and industry specifications.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.
* Monitor daily job flow to meet customer requirements.
* Must satisfy all areas under various warehouse clerk job descriptions (Shipping/Stockroom/Receiving)
* Engage workload (hands on) and assist/train warehouse personnel.
* Fill gaps in throughput by reallocating resources or taking on tasks directly.
* Coordinate with Stockroom and Final Inspection to ensure timely product shipment.
* Optimize process flow for efficiency and effectiveness.
* Validate and update routing requirements as necessary.
* Assess materials for product protection and determine methods for bracing or blocking to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
* Coordinate cross functionally with internal departments and customers to prioritize urgent needs.
* Troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.
* Ensure that supplies are available to support daily activities.
* Maintain productivity metrics for department.
* Collaborate with various departments to ensure data integrity and proper validation.
* Identify, create, document, and implement Lean process improvement initiatives.
* Implement safety protocols and ensure machinery safety for employees.
Qualification Requirements
Education/Experience
* High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one-year related experience or training.
* Preferred: Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university with 3-5 years related lead/supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
* Proficient command of the English language, both written and spoken.
* Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to navigate dynamic communications between multiple parties.
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and other employees.
Math Skills
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Proficient in calculating rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as creating and interpreting graphs.
Reasoning Skills
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
* Capable of handling problems involving multiple variables in diverse situations.
Computer/ Office / Technical Skills
